instead of poor simple circles,

we might just most simply ask:

how do the two come from one,

that is, can we see

where the both come from;

can we see a line of reasoning

to at least see where they’d start?

do we wind up in the heart?

foundations can be made out of anything,

yet how can anything be made to cohere

unless there are distinct parts

from which another thing departs:

like eyes to the skies, whole with no holes,

bits and pieces can work together,

but the brush needs a stroke,

and the pen, a swift rolling;

until knowledge weaves worlds

ever-richer evolving in orbit—
